Rancho Alegre Horse Shows

Are You Looking For High Quality, Safe, and yet Relaxed Shows For Your Green Horses and Riders ?

Well...You Have Come To The Right Place!
Each year, we present two shows at Rancho Alegre. They are two days long, and designed to replicate as closely as possible, a USEF Hunter-Jumper Horse Show. They offer full Hunter divisions with show championships, Equitation classes for both Juniors and Amateurs, and a variety of Jumper classes with  "real" Jumper courses designed by a USEF licensed Jumper Course Designer. We use our large inventory of jumps, with the Hunters showing over natural Hunter obstacles, while the Jumper courses contain the same colorful fences that one would encounter at a USEF horse show. Fence heights in the Hunter classes range from Cross Rails to 3'3", while the Jumper courses begin at 2'6" and go up from there in height. Trainers Please Note: If you are seeking a venue to prepare horses and riders for "The Real Thing" at a fraction of the cost of a USEF show, come to the Rancho Alegre Horse Shows. We offer one show in the Spring, and one in the Fall, and  while the "look" is fancy, the spirit of these shows stresses learning, enjoyment and a tinge of silliness! Laughter is strongly encouraged.

For 2008 Only !
  • Unfortunately, we had to cancel our Spring Horse Show, as we lost the use of the adjoining property where we had set up our Warm-Up Ring.
  • The good news is that the Fall show is still " a Go". That show will be held on the weekend of October 4-5, 2008.
  • The Even Better News is that we are in the process of creating a new Grass Jumping Field adjoining the show ring. The ground has been sanded (to ensure soft safe footing), seeded and fertilized, and we are watching the lush grass grow, and  waiting till (hopefully) this Fall to prepare the surface for our new Outside Course and Warm-Up area. We plan to build some natural obstacles, (including Banks, Ditches and an Open Water) and will also set aside a schooling area for our horse shows.
  • The Jumping Field may be rideable by Fall, and the plans are for the Natural Obstacles to be built in 2009.
  • In future Rancho Alegre Horse Shows, we hope to include a Mini-Jumper Derby on our new field. And of course, the Jumping Field will aid us in developing and training horses and riders for major Jumping competitions.
  • The Fall Horse Show will occur even if the Jumping Field isn't yet mature enough to withstand riding. If necessary, we will shorten our regular sand arena by enough to allow for a couple of warm up fences, and use that for the Fall Show.
