Rancho Alegre Horse Shows

Are You Looking For High Quality, Safe, and yet Relaxed Shows For Your Green Horses and Riders ?
Well...You Have Come To The Right Place!
Each year, we present two shows at Rancho Alegre.  These two-day shows are designed to replicate as closely as possible, a USEF Hunter-Jumper Horse Show.We offer full Hunter divisions with show championships, Equitation classes for both Juniors and Amateurs, and a variety of Jumper classes with  "real" Jumper courses designed by a USEF licensed Jumper Course Designer. We have a large inventory of jumps, so the Hunters compete over natural Hunter obstacles, while the Jumper courses contain the same type of fences that one would encounter at a USEF horse show. Fence heights in the Hunter classes range from Cross Rails to 3'3", while the Jumper courses begin at 2'6" and go up from there in height.  If you are seeking a venue to prepare horses and riders for "The Real Thing" at a fraction of the cost of a USEF show, come to the Rancho Alegre Horse Shows. We offer one show in the Spring, and one in the Fall, and  while the "look" is fancy, the spirit of these shows stresses learning and enjoyment with a smattering of silliness! We encourage laughter!

The Fall Show on October 4th and 5th was a bit of a soggy affair, as the day before the show, the Northern counties of California were hit with an unexpected early rainstorm, which continued through most of Saturday morning before giving way to clouds and then sunshine. By Sunday, our usual good weather had returned, and the temperature was in the high 70s. But the footing held up, and  despite being sloppy on Saturday, nobody slipped or fell off in the mud, and the horses jumped well. The freshly painted jumps were a mud spattered mess  by the end of the show, but we all had fun, and everyone is looking forward to 2009 when we will go back to our usual schedule of two horse shows. I would especially like to thank the exhibitors and trainers who supported our Fall show...despite the icky weather. "Cheers" to you all!
I will announce the 2009 dates early in the year, so keep checking this page for information. If you would like to be put on our mailing list, please send me your address and contact information.
