Rancho Alegre is located on a twenty-two acre farm
in Cottonwood, California. We chose the North State because of the availability of land with good soil, plenty of water for
irrigation, and it's beautiful oak studded countryside and gently rolling terrain. It is perfect country on which to raise
horses, and affords us the rural lifestyle that we prefer over the crowded conditions that have taken over the Bay Area.
If you are looking for prospective show horses, we always have some nice ones for sale at
Rancho Alegre. The ones who have not yet been to the showring are priced to reflect the less expensive operating costs that
we enjoy here. You will see that It is well worth the drive to come to Rancho Alegre when you are looking for your next
horse....for a journey to Cottonwood is a much less expensive than to Europe!
Fortunately, we are easy to get to and from...by highway or by airplane. We use three airports.
The closest one is the Redding Municipal Airport which is only twenty minutes away and is served by United Express and by
Horizon Airlines. We are an hour's drive to the Chico Airport, and two and a half hours drive to the Sacramento International
Airport. I have found that I can almost always find a decent fare from one of these three choices when I shop for flights
for one of my Officiating jobs.
If you wish to reach us by car, we are only ten minutes drive from Interstate 5, the main
artery running North and South along the West Coast states.
