Horses For Sale:
If you are in the market for a competition horse, be sure to check out the horses
that we have for sale. Most of these horses are homebreds that have been raised and trained by Gay Talmey for careers
as in the jumping disciplines. Gay is an experienced professional who has been breeding, training and competing show horses
for over thirty years. Several national champions have come from her program...horses such as "Vogue", the mare that
Meredith Michaels (now Beerbaum) rode to many championships and Equitation awards during her junior career. The horses that
she has bred, raised and trained at Rancho Alegre are half to three-quarters Thoroughbred crossed with European Warmbloods
or race-bred Quarter Horses. The Thoroughbred side of their pedigrees consists of members of a family of horses that
descend from the noteable *Teddy line. This breeding is noted for it's propensity for jumping ability, intelligence, and
calm generosity, and can be found in the pedigrees of not only many famous Thoroughbred show horses, but also as an integral
part of the breeding of many of the European Show Jumping superstars whose pedigrees contain no small portion of Thoroughbred
blood. All of the horses bred at Rancho Alegre have at least one parent who had a career as a Show Jumper, Hunter, or
Dressage Horse...in many cases these are the second or third generations of horses bred, trained and shown by Gay.
A few of the horses on the Sales page were not bred and raised at Rancho
Alegre, but these horses are currently in training with Gay, and benefit from her experience and her sound and classical training
program.
